He started his career in medicine at the University of San Agustin, where he completed the pre-med program in 1959. Thereafter, he went ahead and studied his medical education at the College of Medicine and Surgery at the University of Santo Tomas, and in 1966, he became an M.D. graduate. Dr. Bofill had already completed his Internship in the Philippines when he relocated to the United States, where he began his Externship Training Program at Ohio Valley Hospital in Ohio.

His professional experience includes working as an E.R. and House Physician at Mercy Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Later, he served as a physician at Bryce Hospital in Alabama, Appalachian Regional Hospital in Kentucky, and Hopemont State Hospital in West Virginia. Such being done, Dr. Bofill continued his medical service with a private practice at Romney & Fort Ashby in West Virginia, now specializing in emergency room (E.R.) coverage for hospitals.

Dr. Bofill’s experiences made him deeply interested in radiology, and as a result, he underwent his Rotating Internship at Frankfort Hospital and completed his Residency at Episcopal Hospital and Germantown Hospital & Medical Center, also in Philadelphia, USA. He then transitioned to work at Pleasant Valley Hospital for two years as an associate radiologist, at Man Appalachian Regional Hospital as the chief radiologist, and at hospitals all over West Virginia as a radiologist.
