Jeff Althoff Headshot Sf 2

Jeff Althoff participated in personal stock trading as a hobby in college as a way to save his money but took it to the next level. He decided to build his private models based on volatility in an effort to project market fluctuations before they happen. Jeff hopes that he will see the market growth within the next few years, giving his retirement portfolio a strong performance.

Jeff completed his undergraduate degree at St. Cloud University, earning his Bachelor’s in Accounting and Finance. During his time at university, he also played on the baseball team and joined the investment club. His background in sports helped him grow into the hard-working businessman he is today. Many athletes possess a virtually unparalleled hustle.  Jeff learned that to be successful, he would have to devote a significant amount of his time to his businesses. The same principles that apply to the life of an athlete can apply to the life of an entrepreneur.

Although Jeff Althoff has a very hectic schedule between his businesses, he always makes time to play his favorite sport, hunting, and spend time with his family. Jeff is incredibly excited to one-day play baseball with his nephews. The idea of watching them grow and learn how to play the sport is something very special to him. As he continues to expand his businesses, Jeff hopes that we can help others find their way in the business world as he found his.To learn more about Jeff Althoff, find him on social media!

Our interview with Jeff Althoff

Question: What’s the most important thing we should know about you?

Jeff Althoff: Family orientation is the #1 thing I value the most.  I love sports, my career, my friends, etc., but I’ve been blessed to have an incredible family and be close to my family my entire life, and I cherish that the most. Without their love and support, I wouldn’t be where I am today in my personal life and business ventures.

Question: Name the most impactful lesson you learned from failure.

Jeff Althoff: There is literally nobody in this world who hasn’t failed at something multiple times.  The lessons you learn and how you grow as an individual will make you come back stronger than ever. With this being said, it’s essential to believe in yourself and take as many risks as you can. It’s rare for the same opportunity to present itself to you twice, so take the chance the first time you get it!

Question: What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Jeff Althoff: Seeing others grow in their careers due to my leadership is humbling.  I am very passionate about coaching and developing others, and seeing their success is what motivates me. I often wish that I came across a strong mentor during my early years of getting into the business, so I want to help others as much as I can. I know the difficulties they are going through, so I am willing to help as much as possible to see others succeed.

Question: What did you waste the most time on when you were first starting your career?

Jeff Althoff: I was not prioritizing correctly.  As I’ve grown in my career, I’ve learned to prioritize accordingly and have seen the results in my businesses. Starting a business on your own will show you that some things are more important than others.

Question: Name a tool you use for work that you can’t live without.

Jeff Althoff: Social media.  These days social media has its positives and negatives, but I try to utilize it for its benefits, reaching as many people as possible efficiently. Leaving positive impacts on them is also one of my favorite parts of it all.

Question: What is your favorite hobby and why?

Jeff Althoff: Baseball! Nothing compares to being outside in the spring and summer playing baseball under the lights with family and friends watching!

Question: What excited you the most about your industry right now?

Jeff Althoff: I am in the outdoors industry.  In times like these, I think anyone can benefit from experiences in the outdoors.  You don’t have to hunt to enjoy the outdoors.  There are several things you can do in the outdoors that can leave long-lasting memories.

Question: What’s the greatest risk you’ve ever taken?

Jeff Althoff: When I exited Corporate America and started my own businesses with my business partner, I took a significant risk. My life has never been the same, and I’m happy to say that!

Question: Name one small habit that positively impacts your productivity.

Jeff Althoff: Take breaks. I remind myself to take breaks when my mind or body needs it. When I feel a block in my thinking, taking a short break helps me come back to work refreshed and energized.

Question: What tips do you have for getting a seat at the table?Jeff Althoff: Be innovative and calculated while staying authentic. Don’t try to be someone you aren’t for people you don’t know. If the people at the table are interested in you and what you bring to the table, they won’t judge you for being yourself.
