Dr. Kenneth Hughes: If God is for you, who can be against you?

Name the most impactful lesson you learned from failure.

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: Any failure should be temporary.  Always keep going and keep striving for greatness.  Always get up and keep fighting.  That is how success is achieved in anything in life.

What accomplishment are you most proud of?

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: I have a loving, tight-knit family that stays close to God.  They support one another, and they have complete faith in God who steadies, protects, and elevates them.

What did you waste the most time on when you were first starting your career?

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: Giving any consideration to the statements of those who try to sabotage you or your life.

Name a tool you use for work that you can’t live without.

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: In Los Angeles we utilize a device called Bodytite that tightens skin without the scars.  This technology has revolutionized the plastic surgery industry and his practice.  With the advent of Bodytite, larger incisions with larger scars can be avoided in appropriate candidates.

What is your favorite hobby and why?

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: Bodybuilding and fitness.  Cardiovascular fitness is just as important as having a body that looks a certain way.  As one ages, cardiovascular fitness becomes even more important than bodybuilding.  Nutrition and injury prevention is critical as well as one ages.

What excited you the most about your industry right now?

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: The hunger for knowledge and excellence and your own personal growth is always what drives you.  Technologies come and go as do trends, but personal growth should occur every day.

What concerns you most about your industry right now?

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: There are many pretenders who are absolutely not doing the world any favors.  Expert plastic surgeons are unicorns, and they should be respected and cherished.

What’s the greatest risk you’ve ever taken?

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: Starting my own business, which involves hiring employees and building a fully accredited surgery center

Name one small habit that positively impacts your productivity.

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: I make it a priority to exercise to keep myself optimally focused and performing at peak intellectual and technical levels

Do you value intelligence or common sense more? Why?

Dr. Kenneth Hughes: Intelligence obliterates common sense every time.  Common sense will never allow you to achieve excellence, and the vast majority of intelligent people possess common sense.
